The National Election Committee (NEC) has organized the training on two main tasks simultaneously including estimated population record for voter registration 2019 and voter registration, registration of political parties and candidate lists standing for the Election of Capital, Provincial, Municipal, District and Khan Councils in 3rd Mandate.
The opening session was conducted under presidency of H.E. Mr. Mok Dara, NEC Deputy General Secretary on 18 February 2019 with a total of more than 120 participants, who are the officers of Provincial/Capital Election Secretariat and Provincial/Capital Election Commission, representatives of 12 political parties, representatives of 14 Associations/NGOs, representative of the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Information.
H.E. Mr. Mok Dara said that NEC master trainers shall deliver the training on 6 topics for 2 days (18-19 February 2019) including:
- Introduction to estimated population record
- Plan on estimated population record, voter registration stations and responsibilities of chief of commune/sangkat councils in voter registration
- Procedures of voter registration, preparation and delivering voter lists to NEC, preparation, delivering and disclosing preliminary voter lists
- Filling, receiving and resolving complaints related to preliminary voter lists
- Registration of political parties and candidate lists standing for the election and complaint resolution
- Instruction on cascading dissemination of voter registration at the capital and provinces
It is worth informing that voter lists revision and voter registration commences from 1-22 May 2019 and the Councils Election is conducted on 26 May 2019.
