On the morning of 22 February 2019, the National Election Committee (NEC) officially approved the regulations and procedures for the Election of Capital, Provincial, Municipal, District and Khan Councils in 3rd Mandate 2019.
The draft regulations and procedures for the Councils Election consist of 3 chapters, 13 sections and 7 annexes, equivalent to 325 pages and were sent to stakeholders for recommendations on 15 January 2019.
After having received recommendation from 10 institutions concerning the draft regulations and procedures for the Councils Election in 3rd Mandate 2019, NEC general secretariat organized the consultative meeting on those recommendations on 8 February 2019 at NEC headquarters with participation of representatives of general secretariat of the Senate, representatives of 5 government ministries/institutions, 4 political parties, 2 NGOs, 8 press institutions and 31 NEC and PES officers, a total of 63 participants.
According to H.E. Mr. Tep Nytha, NEC general secretary, the officially approved regulations and procedures for the Election of Capital, Provincial, Municipal, District and Khan Councils in 3rd Mandate 2019 will be uploaded on NEC website at www.nec.gov.kh soon.
